Story behind the song
using imagery from sci-fi books like The Expanse series, this is about isolation - not being where you think you need to be, and being unable to get back to who and what you were - works for relationships as well. a big thanks goes out to Rick Millward for all his advice in mastering this monster.
Lyrics
the artificial sun was out when I dragged myself off the shelf looked into the mottled mirror to take some stock in myself light years from what I wanted - light years from everything the recycler's not working out here on Saturn's rings the laws of physics say I can't go back I'm a man who has no home all I have is your crumpled picture to torture me as I roam Incoming message from Alpha Prime get me out of here! you've taken all of value, now there's nothing left but tears Incoming message from Alpha Prime reach for the stars, find prison bars Incoming message from Alpha Prime there is no future here too far away - nowhere left to turn too far away - how can I return
