song of Unrequited Love - Eurocentric and teutonic in its presentation.
once upon a time I was in a band with avant garde artist Jennifer Miro (formerly of the iconic SF band The Nuns). The band, called Marlene, was very euro techno centric. We began our live performances with a fog covered stage with a solitary old style gaslight lamp our front and center - with the sax player, wearing a trench coat, leaning against it, wailing moody riffs. This was the birth of Max The Sax, my alter ego.
This song is an outpouring of those days - very heavy and teutonic ... goosebumps or goose-steps!
Thought that maybe I had found someone
who would love and understand me, come what may
was I a fool to dream about forever
you never heard what my heart had to say
You and I
forever and always
wasn't that the way it should be
You and I
such a simple notion
I've searched for you for all eternity
Never thought that I could feel so lonely
I still hear your voice in the night
promissing to be my one and only
but you're still gone when I turn on the light
You and I
forever and always
wasn't that the way it should be
You and I
such a simple notion
I've searched for you for all eternity
We could have shared a love like no other
always by your side, be your friend and your lover
if you just believed we could have had it all
I'd give you all a man could give
You and I
forever and always
wasn't that the way it should be
You and I
such a simple notion
I've searched for you for all eternity
